Types of Insights

Using AI Insights to Improve Faster

The Three Categories of AI Insights

Tradapt organizes AI insights into three categories: Behavioral, Statistical, and Performance. Understanding which category an insight belongs to helps you understand what kind of change it's calling for.

Category 1: Behavioral Insights

These insights describe patterns in how you behave — specifically, how your emotional state affects your trading outcomes.

Common behavioral insights:

Revenge Trading Pattern

"Following a losing trade, you enter a new trade within 15 minutes 73% of the time. These quick-follow trades have a win rate of 28% vs your overall 51%. They're responsible for 41% of your total losses."

FOMO Entry Pattern

"Trades tagged with 'FOMO' show an average entry price 0.4% worse than your other trades on the same setup. This slippage reduces your average R on these trades from +0.8R to +0.1R."

Overtrading After Winning

"On days where you have 3+ winners before noon, your afternoon win rate drops from 54% to 31%. You appear to over-trade after strong mornings."

Category 2: Statistical Insights

These insights identify patterns in your numbers — areas where the data reveals a specific edge or anti-edge.

Common statistical insights:

Setup Performance Divergence

"Your ORB Long setup has a profit factor of 2.1 on NQ futures but only 0.9 on individual stocks. Consider restricting this setup to futures only."

Time-of-Day Edge

"Your win rate between 9:30–10:30 AM is 61%. Between 12:00–2:00 PM, it drops to 29%. You have negative expectancy during lunch hours."

Category 3: Performance Insights

These insights track longer-term trends in your overall performance metrics.

Common performance insights:

Improving Trend

"Your profit factor has improved from 1.2 to 1.8 over the past 8 weeks. This appears correlated with your stricter adherence to stop losses — your average loss size decreased 22%."

Risk Creep

"Your average position size has increased 40% over the past month. If this isn't intentional scaling, check whether you're unconsciously taking larger positions."

Severity Levels

Each insight is tagged with a severity:

  • High — Significant impact, immediate attention recommended
  • Medium — Meaningful but not critical
  • Low — Minor improvement opportunity

Start with High severity insights. Don't try to fix everything at once.
